The incident was reported by Israeli public broadcaster KAN News on Sunday morning. According to KAN, the NCO was lightly wounded, but did not provide further details.

Palestinian activists are beginning to speak out against Hamas, asserting that “Hamas is finished” and urging Gaza residents to join the protests set for the end of June.

In addition, the IDF operated to combat smuggling along Israel's eastern and western borders.

The PIJ terrorists were identified as Muhammad Atiya Hassan Abu Afash, Farhat Zuhair Farhat Harara, and Abdallah Allah Riyadh Masoud Qadoum, the military said.

Overnight on Saturday, the IDF killed an additional Hamas terror commander, Muhanad Othman Yassin Farwana, in southern Gaza. 

An official explained that a major problem has arisen due to on-the-ground dynamics. "Hamas is dragging its feet, and the US is finding it difficult to apply leverage on it," he noted.
