Wentworth Miller, the charismatic star of Prison Break, arrived Tuesday for a four-day visit as a guest of YES satellite television. In the popular series, which is broadcast on the YES Stars 2 channel, the British-born American actor plays Michael Scofield, an architect who intentionally gets incarcerated to help his innocent brother escape death row. After Miller greeted the media in Hebrew at a Tel Aviv press conference Tuesday, he went on to explain the significance of his Israel visit, saying he feels somehow connected to the land because of his mixed origins - his father's mother was Jewish and some of his mother's family stems from Syria. This is not the star's first visit to the Holy Land. Back in 1994 he came to Israel as a member of the Princeton University students' choir for Fourth of July celebrations in which he performed in front of the US ambassador and late prime minister Yitzhak Rabin. "Back then I already knew I ought to come back," he said. Currently winding up its third season here, Prison Break consumes most of Miller's life: "We shoot five days a week, 14 hours a day," he said. In Israel, he will participate in promotional shoot, but he will also use his rare free time to visit Galilee, the Dead Sea and Masada. "I need this two month break [four days of which he is spending here] to recharge my batteries," he said. "This country is so interesting, and it would demand one's entire life to be really comprehend it - but I will do my best over [my short time here]." The fourth season of Prison Break will resume production later this month and will be broadcast in the US in September. From Israel Miller will continue on to Paris, Stockholm and Milan.
