Shots fired at Israelis east of J'lem; none hurt

IDF finds bullet holes in vehicle, investigating incident; projectile fired from Gaza lands in Eshkol region, none hurt.

A number of Israeli civilians traveling in the Nahal Parat canyon area east of Jerusalem reported hearing shots fired on Thursday evening.
The IDF deployed soldiers to the area and launched a scan. It found two bullet holes in a vehicle, but no injuries.
"We are checking the circumstances of this incident," an IDF spokesman said.
The incident came as a projectile was fired from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel on Thursday night, landing in an open area of the Eshkol region. It was not clear if the projectile was a mortar shell or a rocket.
No injuries or damage were reported in the attack, which failed to set off the red alert rocket alarm siren.
In the Gush Ezion region on Thursday some 100 Palestinians clashed with the IDF in the Palestinian village of Beit Omar. An officer was hit in the face with a stone and was lightly wounded.
In Hebron, settlers scrawled graffiti "God is King, death to terrorists," on a wall along Worshipers Way.
A bottle with with fluid was thrown from one car at a passing car near the Nili settlement in the Binyamin region.
Some 70 Palestinians clashed with the IDF near Tellem in the South Hebron Hill.
Outside the Ofra settlement early Thursday morning, a driver lost control of the vehicle, which flipped off the road onto the rocky hillside. The Samaria Citizens Committee charged that the accident occurred after Palestinians threw rocks at the road. The IDF said it was still investigating the matter.
Samaria Citizens' Committee head Benny Katzover said the incident could easily have ended in a fatality, and called on the security forces to do more to securing the roads in Judea and Samaria.
