Demonstrators plan to throw shoes at an effigy of US President Barack Obama at a rally to be held outside the US Embassy in Tel Aviv at 7 p.m. on Monday.

The group’s Facebook page adds “we shall make a model of the American President Barak Obama that we shall throw shoes on [sic]. This symbolic action shall reveal our message: Enough is enough, we will not let you step on our sovereignty.”
Organizers say the demonstration will be attended by “hundreds of passionate citizens, Zionist activists, Free Pollard organization members, the Likud’s young generation forum, youth movements and international media.”
Ori Bar-Am, one of the protest’s organizers, said they wanted to show that Obama’s agenda “is harming the rights of Jews in the land of Israel, is anti-democratic, anti-America,” and asked “if Obama can be against the burning of the Koran, how can he kick around the Bible?”
