President Shimon Peres met with Tran Anh Tuan, the deputy interior minister of Vietnam and his delegation on Sunday to mark the graduation of senior managers in the Vietnamese government who were in Israel participating in a unique executive program at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) in Herzliya.

The program was developed following the president’s visit to Vietnam in 2011, with the purpose of strengthening the bond between the two countries through government relations and sharing knowledge in technology and entrepreneurship among government officials.

Vietnamese officials participated in the three-week program at the Institute for Policy and Strategy (IPS) at the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy.

The courses, taught by top experts and researchers in their fields, included among others: reforms in public policies, online governing, Israel as a start-up nation, new and digital media, decision-making processes in the government, and cyber security.
