Harpaz Affair: Benayahu, Winner released to five days house arrest
Former IDF spokesman Gen. (res) Avi Benayahu was released to five days house arrest Thursday after having been arrested Wednesday for his alleged role in the Harpaz Affair. Col. (res) Erez Winner, a one-time aide to former IDF chief of staff Lt.-Gen. (res) Gabi Ashkenazi, was also released to five days house arrest Thursday.

Both men were forbidden from contacting any other people connected with the case or leaving Israel.

Both stand accused of destroying documents, obstruction of justice, and of holding and disseminating classified documents without approval.
