Mystery continues to surround the deaths of two 10-year-old girls who drowned in a house pool in Savyon on Tuesday, police said.
On Thursday, their bodies are to be taken for an autopsy at the L. Greenberg Institute of Forensic Medicine at Abu Kabir to determine the cause of death.
Police said Wednesday night it still has no way of knowing what caused the girls’ deaths and that at the moment it can only speculate.
Police added that it has taken the “robot” automated cleaner that was in the pool at the time for an examination, and has collected samples of the pool water in order to check for contaminants. The story has dominated the news cycle in the country since Tuesday, and speculation has centered on whether or not the two girls were electrocuted in the pool or were killed by some sort of poison in the water.
The girls studied together at a school in Yehud and were long-time friends.
