Adopt, don't shop: Authorities push new initiative for adopting dark-colored animals
By JPOST.COM STAFF

Israelis prefer adopting light-colored animals over dark, leaving many adorable black haired cats and dogs in shelters.
Israelis have shown a preference for adopting light-colored animals from shelters, the ISPCA, Israel Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals, says.

As a result, the organization has begun a new push against the discrimination of animals with black and darker fur, reminding people that all animals are created equal.

Additionally, the ISPCA
will hold a special Tu B'Av (the Jewish festival of love) celebration for animals this year, starting on August 11th, to remind people that animals deserve love too.
