Transportation Ministry: No airlines rerouting to Ovdah in South
No airlines that have suspended flights to Ben-Gurion Airport in Israel have agreed to reroute flights to Ovdah airport in the South, according to a Transportation Ministry spokesman.

Following a 24-hour Federal Aviation Authority prohibition on flying to Ben-Gurion Airport Tuesday night, Israel opened up Ovdah as an alternative, offering to bus passengers up to country's center.

“No airline would fly there - this is not a solution for an airport like Ben-Gurion or the residents of the central part of of Israel,” said an industry source.

Ovdah, a several hour drive from Ben-Gurion, features only a handful of aircraft parking spaces, and would not be suitable as a substitute, the source added.
