Speaking ahead of special cabinet meeting, prime minister says IDF has made substantial gains against Hamas terror infrastructure in Gaza.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Thursday that Israel will continue Operation Protective Edge in Gaza with full force, giving no indication that a cease-fire was in the offing.

Speaking ahead of a special cabinet meeting, the prime minister said that the IDF has delivered a powerful blow to Hamas infrastructure over the course of the 17 day operation.

"We are continuing the operation in full strength," he said, adding that the IDF was making big gains in Gaza.

Netanyahu also trumpeted Israel's diplomatic gains, in successfully convincing US aviation authorities to resume flights to and from Ben-Gurion Airport, despite their concerns of the ongoing rocket threat from Gaza.

"In the past day, we have worked to overturn the FAA ban on flights to and from Israel, and that has borne fruit."

The prime minister lamented the loss of 32 Israeli soldiers since the ground incursion into Gaza began one week ago.

"In the name of all the people of Israel, I express deep condolences to the families, the fathers and mothers, of our soldiers that have died protecting our country."
