The IDF soldier mentioned in a video posted online by Palestinian militants is alive and well in Israel, the IDF Spokesperson's Office said Thursday.
In the video posted online on a website affiliated with the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a masked man speaking Hebrew criticizes Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu, accusing him of crimes against the Palestinian people and of lying about the "real number of soldiers hurt and killed" in the operation.
He then says that "if Netanyahu is brave he will reveal the truth about the fate of the officer from the Engineering Corps who died in an ambush in a firefight with our fighters in Beit Hanoun".
He then shows half a dogtag with the name Yaron Sanithan on it.
The IDF Spokesperson's Office said Thursday that they checked the name and the soldier is alive and well in Israel, neither dead nor kidnapped.
