KKL-JNF World Chairman Efi Stenzler has asked representatives of the international community stationed in Israel to cooperate with his organization to benefit communities around the globe and to help transform the world into a better place in which to live.

Speaking to a wide representation of diplomats Wednesday at the the inaugural diplomatic conference hosted by The Jerusalem Post at the Daniel Hotel Herzilya, Stenzler spoke of how the Keren Kayemet has transformed what celebrated author Mark Twain in 1967 described as "a loveless desolate land into a fertile oasis of flourishing agriculture with forests."

Over the years, KKL-JNF has planted more than 240 million tress and has completely changed the Israeli landscape, said Stenzler, noting that Israel is the only country in the world that entered the 21st century with more trees than it had at the beginning of the 20th century.

It is Israel's largest environmental organization and one of the biggest in the world, sharing its vast experience and know how with other environmental agencies throughout the world and developing countries on numerous environmental issues, said Stenzler. "It is frequently approached at international conferences by delegates who want to learn more about Israel's afforestation methods for the desert."

KKL-JNF is the Israeli organization responsible for implementing the most advanced methods of agriculture as well as rehabilitating areas affected by desertification, Stenzler added.
