Former police intelligence officer charged with bribery

4 others, all civilians, also charged in the indictment; Revach took bribes in return for helping illegal casinos evade police discovery.

The Police Investigations Department filed an indictment against Moshe Revach, a former police intelligence officer accused of accepting and giving bribes, breach of trust and obstruction of justice, with the Tel Aviv District Court on Sunday.
Four others, all civilians, are also charged in the indictment.

According to the indictment, Revach took bribes in return for briefing the owners of several illegal casino on how to evade discovery by police. He also allegedly gave them information on police informers, and warned them of impending police raids.
Separately, an indictment was filed by the Northern District Attorney’s Office against a former Trade, Industry and Labor Ministry inspector on charges of accepting bribes and breach of trust.
Shlomo Menachem was responsible for enforcing and monitoring the living conditions of foreign workers employed on farms in the North. According to the indictment, Menachem asked the farmers he visited in his capacity as a government inspector to “donate” to a synagogue, and then used the money for his personal affairs.
