Qatar affirmed the reopening of the Rafah land crossing in southern Gaza, allowing the movement of Palestinians, the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted on X/Twitter on Monday.

"The opening of the Rafah land border crossing in southern Gaza to the movement of Palestinians represents a step in the right direction toward addressing the tragic conditions faced by civilians, particularly in the humanitarian and health sectors," the statement said.

The statement called on all parties to fully implement the ceasefire in Gaza and to keep crossings open to allow a continuous flow of humanitarian aid.

The ministry also reaffirmed Qatar’s support for a two-state solution, based on international resolutions, envisioning an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

This is a developing story.
