Iran is prepared to resume talks with the United States, but negotiations should be "fair and equitable," Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Friday during a press conference with his Turkish counterpart.
Araghchi , who described his talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Istanbul as "good and useful," also said that Tehran was ready to engage with regional countries to promote stability and peace.
He stated Tehran would maintain and expand its defense capabilities.
Fidan spoke to Witkoff, will continue speaking with US on Iran
At the conference, Fidan said he spoke with US special envoy Steve Witkoff on Thursday and would continue to speak with US officials on Iran.
Fidan said he hoped a solution could be found to avoid conflict and Iran's isolation.
This is a developing story.
