US Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was scheduled to attend the April 29 launch of the space shuttle Endeavor.

US President Barack Obama, his wife Michelle and their daughters, as well as Gifford and Kelly family members, will accompany her.
Kelly, 47, has announced that he plans to read a note from his wife once
the Endevour reaches space. The entire Endeavour crew will also wear
special blue bracelets in honor of Giffords, who is standing on her own
after being shot in the head after a gunman opened fire at a Tuscon
grocery store this past January where she was holding a political
