Google Play, the app store for Android products, has made several applications available to users looking to "enjoy the inspiration" of Adolf Hitler.
The app instructs users to download and "enjoy the inspiration of Adolf Hitler on your phone." One application, entitled: "Infamous Adolf Hitler Quotes" opens with the following description: “Looking for Adolf Hitler Quotes?? Then this is the App for you!”
According to Google Play Store, in the last 30 days there have been 10,000 – 50,000 downloads of the app. The app contains numerous Hitler quotes including a special Quote of the Day feature.
One user commented on the free English-language app in the user review section, stating: "Wow I love most of these words awesome apps and it really shows the real Hitler."
Other popular Hitler apps available on Google Play Store includes "Adolf Hitler Thoughts," which states in its description that "the wonderful leader has given a lot of quotes that could motivate people to conquer the world."
The Anti Defamation League (ADL) blog last week responded to Google Play's Arabic-Language app, “Hitler’s Sayings," slamming the "vile messages" it displays. The "Hitler's Sayings" app lets users read and share what it calls Hitler's "beautiful sayings that we could benefit from in our lives."
"Hitler combines the charisma of the skillful physician and the grand juggler…Read in this application all of Hitler’s sayings and share them with your friends," the app states.
One user commented on the application, saying: "Mr. Hitler caused quite a furor with his deep thinking. A wise man, whose predictions came true in almost all cases."
The app, according to the ADL blog, offers users quotes such as "Jews are like the mosquitoes that suck our blood," and "I could have killed all the Jews in the world, but I spared some of them so you know why I killed the rest.”
