Menachem Gesheid, a top figure in United Torah Judaism, told the haredi publication Hamodia that, “the New Right was established with an ‘order from above.’”
He said that it was Sheldon Adelson's court that created the current right-wing government in Israel.
“With Netanyahu’s political future behind him, Adelson decided that he wanted the current prime minister succeeded by [Naftali] Bennett and [Ayelet] Shaked and they could not lead from the former National Religious party,” he said.
