Senator Bernie Sanders received seven stitches after cutting his head on a glass shower door on Friday morning, according to an announcement from his campaign.
But the accident didn't keep him off the campaign trail. CNN reported that Sanders continued to preside over various events in South Carolina, including a panel on healthcare in Charleston, without acknowledging the bandage over his forehead.
"The senator has proceeded with all of his scheduled events," said Sanders spokeswoman Arianna Jones, in a report from Politico.
The campaign added that Sanders, who is 77 years old, did not fall when he cut his head.
The senator from Vermont began his second presidential campaign last month, and has since visited a number of states. He plans to be in Nevada on Saturday for more campaign events.
