US President Donald Trump said he will address the American people concerning "the Humanitarian and National Security crisis on out Southern Border" on Tuesday night.

The US federal government had been shut-down in recent weeks as Trump had been adamant he wishes congress to approve of the funding needed to build a wall on the US-Mexican border, a demand Democrats refuse to comply with.

More than 7,000 migrants from Central America are currently present along the US-Mexico border seeking entry to the United States, the total number is estimated to reach 10,000, BBC reported.
