Jennifer Grey wins ‘Dancing’ LOS ANGELES (AP)
Actress Jennifer Grey won television’s Dancing With the Stars contest on Tuesday, beating Kyle Massey and Bristol Palin in the finale.
Grey, 50, who co-starred with the late actor Patrick Swayze in the 1987 movie Dirty Dancing, was named champion at the end of a two-hour broadcast, capping three months of weekly ballroom routines and eliminations.
Massey, 19, a former That’s So Raven Disney Channel child star, was runner-up. Palin, 20, the daughter of conservative politician Sarah Palin, ended in third place.
The winner was determined by a combination of scores from the show’s three judges and what producers said was a record amount of votes from the audience at home of more than 20 million viewers.
Young Habima company tackle Moliere
Shay Pitovski and his gifted Young Habima company tackle Moliere in the master’s Mr. de Pourceaugnac. It’s yet another variation on the classic commedia theme of youth versus age. Julie’s father has engaged her in marriage to well-to-do Mr. P. So he’s a tad older than she is. So she’s in love with handsome young Eraste.
Too bad! Enter the wily Sbrigani, and with his connivance, the young lovers prepare a reception for Mr.
Pourceaugnac that he never expected in his worst nightmares. Moliere and his company presented the comedy to Louis XIV in 1669. The play opens December 5 at Tel Aviv’s Tzavta Theater. • Helen Kaye
