Author Amos Oz's hometown of Arad will celebrate his 70th birthday with a series of cultural events.

Author Amos Oz's hometown of Arad will celebrate his 70th birthday with a series of cultural events over the weekend of May 7-9.
President Shimon Peres will open Literary Days in Arad, and poet Haim Gouri, author Prof. Nurit Gerz, Prof. Fania Oz-Salzberg and Amos Oz will attend.
Oz will meet with high school students, and panel discussions with other writers will be held. Plus, there will be a photo exhibition by Arad artists who were inspired by Oz's work, sing-alongs, a literary cafe and concerts - including one by Shalom Hanoch.
