She was the first singer to ever represent Israel in the Eurovision contest, in Luxembourg in 1973, with the song “Ey Sham”. The song made it to fourth place. Ilanit was also the singer of the year in the annual hit parade for seven years in a row (1971-77)! This accomplishment has not been repeated since then by any other singer.
