The Yes Planet cinema chain is launching Bravo, a new series of filmed opera and ballet classics from the colorful London Royal Opera House productions. The program features three operas: Carmen, by Georges Bizet; Le Nozze Di Figaro and Don Giovanni, by Mozart; as well as two ballets, Romeo and Juliet, by Prokofiev; and Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty. Simon Keenlyside, Caterina Antonacci, Jonas Kaufman, Ildebrando d'Arcangelo and Israel's Rinat Shaham are among the vocalists, with legendary dancers Tamara Rojo and Carlos Acosta starring in Prokofiev's masterpiece and Sir Charles Macceras and Antonio Pappano leading The Orchestra of the Royal Opera House. The films will be screened at the Yes Planet movie theaters at the Ayalon shopping mall in Ramat Gan and at the Cinemall center in Haifa between March 17 and May 22. A lecture by music journalist Yossi Schiffman precedes screenings. Tickets run NIS 90 and include light refreshments. For more details and reservations: www.yesplanet.co.il.
