Barbra Streisand fans who weren’t quick enough on the draw to acquire a ticket to her debut show in Israel on June 20 at Bloomfield Stadium in Jaffa are getting a second chance.
The NIS 420 tickets for the first show at the 16,000-capacity stadium almost completely sold out within a half hour of going on sale last month, leaving only some premium seats available.
Promoter Shuki Weiss has added a second show, slated for Saturday night, June 22, at 9:15 p.m. Tickets will go on sale on Thursday at 10 a.m via the website www.eventim.co.il or their phone line *9066.
Eventim club members will be eligible to purchase tickets a day early on Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m. Information on joining the club is available at the same website and phone line.
Accompanied by a 60-piece orchestra, the 70-year-old Streisand will end a select tour of Europe with the Israel shows. Two days earlier, she is expected to perform privately at the Presidential Conference in Jerusalem in honor of President Shimon Peres’s birthday.
Streisand is one of the most commercially and critically successful entertainers of the past 50 years with more than 140 million records sold worldwide, two Academy awards, eight Grammy awards and five Emmy awards.
Joining her onstage will be special guest trumpeter Chris Botti, along with her son Jason Gould and her sister Roslyn Kind for duets.
Before her arrival in Israel, Streisand will perform on June 1 in London, June 6 in Amsterdam, June 10 in Paris, June 12 in Cologne, and June 15 in Berlin.
