Rising indie Austin, Texas band set to debut in Israel at the Barby Club in Tel Aviv.

Rising indie Austin, Texas band Black Angels will be making their raucous debut in Israel tonight at the Barby Club in Tel Aviv.Riding on the crest of their breakout fourth album, Indigo Meadow, the neo-psychedelic hard rocking quartet has been likened to the Velvet Underground, the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and The Raveonettes. The band formed in 2004, taking their name from the Velvets’ song “The Black Angel’s Death Song,” and in 2006 released their debut album, Passover. Their uncompromising, buzz-drone sound has won them widespread acclaim and slots at SXSW and All Tomorrow’s Parties.Opening the show, at the special invitation of Black Angels’ vocalist Alex Maas, will be the Berlin-based Israeli band Charlie Megira & The Bet She’an Valley Hillbillies.
