Egypt: We wont be silenced

I believe that friendship is the most valuable asset a man can acquire in his life. I don’t know how to express my infinite gratitude to all of my true amazing friends who had my back and shook the world up side down for my release.

First I want to thank my colleagues at the Jerusalem Post for acting right away and publishing a story about my arrest in the breaking news section on the same day. “ http://www.jpost.com/Headlines/Article.aspx?id=297958 “
I truly and strongly believe that they let me go free and dropped their silly charges because all of my friends and your endless efforts.
A thank you is nothing compared to what you have done for me but it is all I have right now:
Friends who contacted the Egyptian Embassies in their countries about my arrest such as in Washington DC, Canada, Australia, Norway, Germany, England and Tel Aviv.
Friends who contacted the American embassy in Cairo asking the US government to intervene.
Friends who contacted all the human rights organizations they could find such as Amnesty International, the Human Rights watch and Freedom House.
Friends who contacted journalists and persuaded many of them to write articles about my arrest.
Friends who created many groups and pages in the social networks attracting thousands of people to read about my story.
Friends who did the art work on my pictures asking for my freedom.
These true Friends and their actions made me 100% sure that it is worth it. What I have been through wasn''t for nothing, it all meant something. I am very grateful to all of you and I owe you my life.
I know that all of you are very anxious to know the details and the day to day experiences of my detention. InshaAllah I will write all about it and publish it someday.  In the meantime, I am asking you please be patient because I need time to gather my thoughts and recover from the experience.
All I can say right now that during my detention there was a very strong quotation by Martin Niemoller that kept my sanity intact and pushed away any doubts or regrets about choosing this path of mine.
I really wish that Mursi and his regime would understand why we activists will never be silenced no matter what they do to us.
First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out-- because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out--because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out-- because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak out for me.
Everything that will happen today the 25th of January 2013 will show us all that Mursi''s regime is a brutal and aggressive regime that knows no other way to deal with the angry frustrated protesters all over the country.
No matter how aggressive you are, I tell you sir: We Wont Be SILENCED.
