Our favorite brand of brain food

There is a lot of hype around getting enough Omega 3 fatty acids. They are especially important for kids but the problem is that they are either extremely expensive or disgusting. Generally it comes from fish oil so the pills combine a high slime factor with fishiness- not usually a winning combo. I once tried to buy the actual oil but it was so gross that there was nothing that could mask the repulsiveness. There are Omega 3 chocolate bears which are yummy but ridiculously over priced and I am pretty sure (if I remember correctly) that kids need at least 3 per day to get a full dose. I happened to be in a drug store (superpharm) when a mother asked for the Trio-Guard brand for her kids and said they loved them, so I bought them to check them out.
Each pill is a gelatin capsule filled with oil. The capsules are bubble gum flavored and chewy so it kind of masks the oozy oiliness (score!) Each kid gets two every morning and I leave them on the counter and snack on them through the day.
While I don’t have a problem with the regular pills for myself, I do have a problem with getting around to taking them. Now, since they are out I just chew them like gum.  While they are made for children, it just means that an adult needs to take more.
I have found that the best price is usually found through the pharmacy at the kupat cholim (health insurance provider).
