To start of this extended edition of The Sports Rabbi Show( Almost 3 hours!) Allon Sinai of The Jerusalem Post, JPost.com joined me from London, England as he is covering the London 2012 Olympic Games! We talked about the preparation going on in and around London, the Olympic Stadium and of course we discussed the Israel Delegation and we have to look forward to during the first few days of the games. Already this weekend, Alex Shatilov, the Israeli Artistic Gymnast will be competing along with Gal Nevo, The Israeli Swimmer!

David “Dubi” Pick (18:10) of Eurobasket.com then came on board to discuss the various signings around Europe including Jordan Farmar going to Turkey as well as Lior Eliyahu who had been at the NBA Summer League with the Minnesota Timberwolves along the other “Israeli” Reps. We also looked at the Israel National Basketball Team as they are now at full strength with Omri Casspi rejoining the club after working out in the USA.

I then welcomed Israeli basketball veteran Yehu Orland (39:35) to the program as we talked about his more than 10 year career playing in Israel! Yehu, a consummate professional brings a tremendous amount of confidence & skill to the table as he has played all around the country!

Jon Scheiman (1:07:40) of True Hoops NY was next up as we argued about the New York Knicks refusal to match Jeremy Lin’s offer sheet from the Houston Rockets. We also talk about the US Men’s Basketball Team that will be competing in the Olympic Games!
River Plate! In Honor of Sam Kelly!
I then had the great honor to have Sam Kelly (1:33:04) join me from Argentina! Sam and I discussed his wonderful Podcast, The Hand of Pod where he, along with others disect the Argentine League! From River Plate (Sam’s favorite Club) to Boca Juniors (The Sports Rabbi’s team!) we have a great time discussing the great Football of South America! To close out this show, Doc Ike (2:31:39) joined me to break down the Rick Nash trade from the Columbus Blue Jackets to the New York Rangers and the Seattle Mariners trade of Ichiro Suzuki to the New York Yankees!
