YoungDiplomats.com : The New Generation of Israeli Diplomats

During the last years , the Israeli Diplomats have failed everywhere. Yes everwhere.

When their fellow citizens evolved and created one of the most innovative society on earth , that would latter be known as "The Start Up Nation" , the Israeli Diplomats abroad did not try to innovate or to find solutions to existing problems. They just reapeated what they have been told to say and did meetings with high rankings officials.

Birth of BDS Movement

This lazy diplomacy backlashed few years later, when the movement BDS was created in 2005. The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement (BDS Movement) is a global campaign attempting to increase economic and political pressure on Israel to comply with the stated goals of the movement: the end of Israel's occupation and colonization of Palestinian land and the Golan Heights, full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and respect for the right of return of Palestinian refugees.

The BDS movement becames quickly very successful , not at the high-ranking level, but at the grass-roots level. The propaganda of this movement against Israel managed to convince millions of students, young people and even officials in Europe but also on US campuses.

Why Israeli Diplomats failed?

The Israeli diplomats since 2005 have been highly ineffective to curb the growing wave of the BDS movements , mainly because the Israeli Diplomats were not connected at all to grassroots level , especially in Europe. Having grown in Europe I never assume their was Israeli Officials to defend Israel their. What they do is mostly meetings with high rankings officials and the Prime Ministers. What they forgot is that these high rankings officials are representing the people that elected them , and if the grassroots level start to wants to boycott Israel , they will follow , whatever how well the Israeli Diplomats have convinced them , they are politicians before all.

Additionally at the United Nations in New York, nothing much was done by Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor. Even if he was a highly skilled and intelligent man , he lacked the creativity needed to curb the BDS movement. Speeches were not enough , even at the UN action was needed. For more than 10 years, BDS was able to convince and disseminate propaganda at the UN , without a proper and convincing Israeli answer.

The new Generation : Danny Danon and www.young-diplomats.com

The failure to innovate at the Israeli Foreign Ministry however will soon be fixed. Indeed a new generation of Israelis wants to change things, and are ready for the fight to convince grassroots and regular people in the streets of Europe and the US. Young Diplomats working for the Israeli website www.young-diplomats.com , and Israelidiplomacy.com understood the need for an alternative diplomacy. The young scholars are calling for a more original and innovative Israeli Answer.  Aiming at convincing citizens that Israel's actions are just. They use mainly internet websites and are tech savy. They use social networks such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to convince people everyday with videos and infographics. Their main goal as David Allouche declared is to reach Europeans young citizens, that will be the voters of tommorow.

Danny Danon , the new Israeli envoy to the UN also is seeking to change things and to innovate. For the first time since BDS creation , Israeli counter-attacked when he managed to organize a successful an anti-BDS conference at the UN.

Things are evolving quickly and the new generation that should in the coming years be in place at the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs , will contributed and permit the renewal of Israel on the Diplomatic Scene. These young people know how BDS should be fought and they will permit the MFA to fight them with new technological and innovative ways.
