A man was killed and a woman was seriously injured when they fell into a 20-meter deep water well north of the Netanya interchange on Route 2 on Saturday morning. The couple were apparently hiking in the area, but failed to notice the abandoned well. Magen David Adom teams rescued them from the well, but pronounced the man dead at the scene. The woman was evacuated to Hillel Yaffe Hospital in Hadera.
