Some 100 African infiltrators on Wednesday morning sneaked into Israel through the Egyptian border, walked to Eilat, and invaded the yards of houses in the city, Israel Radio reported.

The infiltrators, some of who were in a state of exhaustion, knocked on the doors of the houses and sought medical assistance and water.

Other infiltrators were caught at the Eilat-Ashkelon pipeline facility, near Eilat.

Frightened Eilat residents, who feared the infiltrators were terrorists, called the police, but military personnel only came to collect the infiltrators in the morning.
