Fourteen terrorists attacked the airport and a military base in the Afghan city of Jalalabad on Saturday, Reuters reported.
Helicopters were flying overhead, smoke was seen and explosions were heard as the attack continued, according to the report.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said that 14 suicide bombers
perpetrated the attack, according to Reuters. A Nangarhar provincial
police official confirmed the assault.
Casualty figures were not available at the time of this report.
