A 20-year-old Arab resident from the Palestinian territories was arrested on Thursday for allegedly sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl in an events hall in Jerusalem.

The girl was at a wedding with her family when she went to the bathroom by herself. The suspect followed her into the bathroom, undressed her, and sexually assaulted her. The girl told her parents when she returned to the wedding, who went straight to the owner of the hall and identified the worker.

When the police arrived, the suspect willingly gave his blue Israeli identity card, which was a forgery. The suspect was arrested and brought to detention, and is expected to be indicted in the next few days.
