20-year-old woman stabbed in J'lem; seriously injured

A Jewish woman in her 20s was in serious condition Monday night after she was stabbed in Jerusalem’s Bayit Vegan neighborhood. An initial police investigation revealed that the woman and her boyfriend had been sitting at a bus stop on Rehov Frank, waiting for the 39 bus. When the bus arrived and the woman tried to get on, the boyfriend allegedly took out a knife, stabbed her and fled the scene.
Police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby told The Jerusalem Post that the bus driver had seen the entire incident, but that no details were currently available about the suspect.
Police patrols were searching the area for the suspect.
Magen David Adom paramedics performed CPR on the woman, who was evacuated to Hadassah-University Medical Center, Ein Kerem.
