In a case of alleged sexual violence in Haifa, police arrived Thursday morning to a Haifa apartment where a 27-year-old woman had been reportedly imprisoned in her home and raped.

Upon arrival at the apartment, police found a woman who had been sexually abused Wednesday night, by a young man whom she had met, according to the victim. The suspect fled the scene following the act, and police were searching the surrounding areas.

Forces arrived at the scene after the young woman had screamed for help. After police knocked down the door to her apartment and helped the woman, she was transferred to a hospital and subsequently to the municipality's Women's Crisis Shelter.
