Four residents of Bir al-Maksur in the North, including an IDF soldier, were arrested for allegedly breaking into an IDF base at the Golani Junction on two occasions and stealing five weapons, Israel Radio reported Thursday.

The men allegedly attacked IDF soldiers in the course of the break-ins, one which occurred some six months ago and the second which occurred about a month ago.

The soldier who was among those arrested is a 19-year-old who serves at the base which was broken into, according to Israel Radio. The suspect allegedly allowed his cohorts to enter the base and steal the weapons, pretending that they had overpowered him.

The suspects, whose detention has already been extended several times, were set to face an additional remand hearing on Friday morning.
