Minister of Public Security Gilad Erdan said on Friday that 50 US firefighters would join efforts to combat the fires across Israel.

He did not provide details on which state the firefighters will come from, but said the team was already on their way.In addition, Erdan updated the number of people arrested in connection to the fires, saying that in addition to the 13 suspects already reported on that there had been more people detained.



He did not give a precise figure, but noted that in the minutes preceding his remarks another person has been arrested.
