7 Indonesian Islamists jailed for terror plots

JAKARTA, Indonesia — Seven Islamist militants have been handed prison terms of up to eight years for their involvement in terrorism in Indonesia.
The men were sentenced Monday after separate trials at the West Jakarta District Court. All had spent time at a militant training camp in Aceh that authorities raided in February.
Andri Marlan and Chaerul Fuadi were given eight years for their roles in attacks on the UNICEF office and a Red Cross worker in Aceh last year. Abu Musa received the lightest sentence, getting five years after being convicted of being a courier for slain bombmaker Dulmatin.
More than 70 suspects with ties to the training camp have been captured or killed. Authorities say the militants were plotting attacks on foreigners and high-profile assassinations
