Around 80 ultra-Orthodox members of the Eda Haredit NGO in Jerusalem demonstrated at the Old City’s Karta Parking Lot on Saturday afternoon to protest the city’s desecration of Shabbat and the twoyear anniversary of the court decision to open the parking lot during Shabbat.

Haredi newspapers predicted that thousands would gather to protest the parking lot and other grievances the Eda Haredit group has with the municipality, including sponsoring festivals like the Festival of Tastes in March, which featured non-kosher food.

After the demonstrators tried to block the entrance to the parking lot, one haredi demonstrator was arrested and the rest of the demonstrators dispersed.
