Police arrested an 83-year-old resident of Netanya on Thursday on suspicion of sexually molesting two his granddaughters when they were seven and eight years old.

The two women only issued the complaint recently, 16 years after the assaults allegedly took place. The women told police that both of them kept the abuse secret for years, until recently they found out that they both suffered the same abuse at the hands of their grandfather.

The grandfather has denied the charges against him.

Also on Thursday, a court extended the remand of a 38-year-old Hadera resident accused of raping two minors aged seven and eight, when they were at his house visiting his daughter.
