85-year-old tried to kill his wife, self in Zichron Yaakov

An 85-year-old man attempted to stab his wife to death and commit suicide by overdosing on pills in Zichron Yaakov on Saturday, police said.
The man reportedly carried out the acts in order to "spare his wife" who is suffering from a disease, police added.
Before the attempted killing-suicide, the man sent an email to his son in Turkey and set out his plans to end their lives.
The son immediately alerted police, who arrived on the scene and contacted paramedics.
