9 Turkish soldiers, police die in clashes with Kurd rebels

DIYARBAKIR, Turkey - Nine Turkish security officials including soldiers and policemen have been killed during clashes with Kurdish militants in the southeastern province of Sirnak, security sources said on Monday.

At least eight other members of the security services were wounded in the fighting and the clashes were continuing, the sources said.
