Police on Wednesday arrested mob kingpin Francois Abutbul from his apartment in Tel Aviv, as well as Zeid Jarushi, on suspicion of planning to kill mob rival Rico Shirazi.

The two were being investigated and will be brought before the Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court on Thursday to extend their remand. Abutbul's lawyers denied the allegations.

His arrest comes after the release Wednesday of Rico Shirazi and another mob leader, Shalom Domrani, who were arrested last week on suspicion of planning to attack Abutbul.
