Palestinian detainee Samer Essawi on Thursday was sentenced by a Jerusalem Magistrates Court to eight months in jail, beginning from 7 July 2012, according to activist tweets.Activists quoted Essawi's lawyer as saying that Essawi will continue his hunger strike despite the Israeli verdict. He still faces a separate trial by a military court.Samer has been on hunger strike for 213 days.
