An Afghan delegation is headed to Qatar for "open discussions" with representatives of the Taliban insurgents over the next few days aimed at ending Afghanistan's long war, the deputy chief of the country's High Peace Council said on Friday.
The 20-member delegation will attend talks set for Sunday and Monday, said Attaullah Ludin, the council deputy.
A Taliban official in Qatar also said a meeting was set for the next several days with Afghan officials, as well as some from Pakistan.
