Afghan officials: Kandahar deputy governor killed

KABUL, Afghanistan — Afghanistan's Interior Ministry said Saturday that Kandahar's deputy provincial governor was killed by a suicide bomber who attacked his convoy in the southern city.
Spokesman Zemeri Bashery said Abdul Latif Ashna was killed as he was being driven to work when a suicide bomber on a motorcycle slammed into his car. Three of his bodyguards were wounded in the attack, he added.
