After Islamophobia question, Trump says Muslims are collectively responsible for terrorism

A Muslim audience member asked about Islamophobia on Sunday night, and how the two candidates planned to deal with rising racism in the US.
Responding first, Donald Trump said that Islamophobia was "a shame," but said that the US Muslim community bears communal responsibility for Islamic terrorism, and that Clinton would not even admit the problem and call it by its name.
Clinton, responding, said that America is not at war with Islam, but with radical jihadist terror, and that Muslim Americans need to be shown that they have a place in the country.
It is "dangerous to be engaging in this sort of demagogic rhetoric," she said.
Trump followed up by confirming that his previously stated ban on Muslims has "morphed into extreme vetting," railing against Clinton's support for allowing in Syrian refugees as "a trogan horse."
On why she supports admitting refugees, Clinton blamed Russia for the disastrous humanitarian situation in Syria, and called for compassion to children caught up in the violence, and not to ban people based on their religion, considering the values of the US.
"What Trump says about Muslims is used to recruit (Islamic jihadist) fighters," Clinton said.
