Ahmadinejad to establish university to teach nuclear engineering

Outgoing Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was granted a license from the Iranian Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution (SCRS) to establish a private high-tech university in Tehran, the pan-Arabic daily Asharq Alawsat reported on Sunday, quoting a conservative Iranian news site.

The university will specialize in high-tech fields such as nanotechnology, aerospace and nuclear engineering.

According to Asharq Alawsat, the SCRC approved Ahmadinejad's request despite existing legislation that prohibits the establishment of new universities in the Iranian capital.
