An additional three people have been killed Thursday in the violent protests that erupted in Cairo's Tahrir Square, AFP reported a local medical volunteer as saying. This brings the death count in Cairo to six.

The volunteer also said that at least 1000 people have been injured.

Protests in Egypt became violent when pro- and anti-government demonstrators met in the Cairo's downtown square and began to scuffle shortly thereafter.
